About Us
We are a small but motivated Irish based online shop specialising in mostly eco-friendly fabrics, sewing patterns, and supplies for all your dressmaking projects. We are passionate about delivering great quality that doesn't cost the earth — literally. That's why we are committed to providing you with the best of both.
All of our fabrics are either made from natural fibres or hold at least one eco-credential, and we continually strive to improve on this further.
Occasionally, we get our hands on deadstock material. These are generally surplus or end-of-line fabrics direct from a mill or designer.
Our Story
Stephanie Heide founded Fabric Romance in 2019 to offer a conscious and guilt-free shopping experience for like-minded makers. A self-taught sewist, Stephanie is passionate about curating fabrics that do not compromise on quality, beauty, or earth-friendliness.
When she is not working, you can find her sewing, on the motorbike, spending time with her family playing board games or cuddled up on the couch with her cat, Purrgus.
Originally operating out of a spare bedroom, in 2021 Fabric Romance moved into its own dedicated space. Our garden studio is a fabric-filled treasure nestled away in Moycullen, Co. Galway at the Gateway to Connemara. We hold monthly Open Days to allow you to shop in-person. Keep an eye out for newsletter announcements.
